The happy union of Japanese and Mexican

This Japanese-inspired Mexican restaurant is the new spot to discover in Plateau-Mont-Royal. Open since the summer of 2020, Casa Kaizen is already among Montréal’s best restaurants. The menu features plant-based tapas that artfully mix Asian and Mexican cuisines. The idea to open a restaurant that would honour his Mexican roots had been brewing for a while in the chef Ventura’s mind. Fusing the two cuisines together was definitely ambitious but the culinary union was a surprisingly harmonious fit.
